Volunteer Role: Resources & Product Development Coordinator

About the Role

Encourage Mental Health is looking for a creative and organised volunteer to help develop resources that support churches and communities in responding to mental health needs.

This role involves generating ideas and helping create meaningful resources—from practical guides for churches to products like encouraging cards, as well as supporting the development of an online bookshop.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Helping develop practical resources for churches (e.g. guides, worksheets, toolkits)
  • Contributing ideas for products such as encouraging cards or wellbeing resources
  • Supporting the creation and refinement of written content
  • Researching books and materials suitable for an online bookshop
  • Assisting with setting up and organising online shop content (e.g. descriptions, categories)
  • Thinking creatively about new ways to meet the needs of churches and communities

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to have done this before, but it would help if you:

  • Enjoy writing, creating, or developing ideas
  • Have an eye for what is helpful, encouraging, and practical
  • Are interested in mental health and/or supporting churches
  • Are organised and able to follow ideas through into finished resources
  • Are comfortable using basic online tools (or willing to learn)

There is an Occupational requirement for this role to be filled by someone with a practising Christian faith.

Time Commitment

  • Flexible, around 2–5 hours per week
  • Remote, with occasional online check-ins

Support You’ll Receive

  • Guidance on themes, content, and audience needs
  • Collaboration and feedback on ideas and resources
  • Flexibility to shape the role around your strengths (e.g. more writing, more ideas, or more practical setup)

Why This Role Matters

The resources you help create will equip churches and organisations to better support people struggling with mental health, making a real difference in communities.

What You’ll Gain

  • Experience in content and product development
  • Opportunity to contribute creatively to a growing organisation
  • Insight into mental health support within church and community settings
  • A flexible, meaningful volunteer role

Expenses

Agreed out-of-pocket expenses can be reimbursed where appropriate.

A Note About the Role

This is a volunteer role. You won’t be expected to provide mental health advice, and all content will be developed collaboratively with guidance and support.
